I think you’re right. The 80/20 rule on female Miata ownership flipped about 2002 or so.

In fact, I’m not sure the last time I saw a lady in a Miata...

I always see cool cars at my gym, yet I never ever see the owners. Makes me sad, because most are really tastefully modded and I’d love to ask questions about some of them. My favorite is a 991 GT3!

About a year ago I came up next to a young woman in a race prepped Miata. Aluminum seats, no padding. Full cage, unpainted. Hood vents, at least 10" wide wheels.... Turbo noises. Started talking (tops were down) but the light changed and people were honking. She got on the freeway, I kept going through the city.

But I believe that someday we shall meet again, and nerd out over Miata stuff. Call it fate.

It was like that for me as well, until I finally talked to the owner of a heavily modded yellow S2k. Now I see him and his car everywhere, and somehow time it right to meet other cool car owners too.

Just sit down and stretch in front of the gt3. Then you won’t miss em

I’m always amazed at how great those wheels look on just about any somewhat clean BMW.

And yeah I feel your pain. Somehow my car gets dirtier in half an hour of city driving than it did when I took it up snowy mountain trails for a day. Complete opposite of summer

I don’t really see cool cars around here.

The most expensive car I’ve seen was a heavily modified Audi R8. It had a titanic spoiler, early 2000s purple paint, a ridiculously lowered suspension, and excessive negative camber.
Tasteless, but hey, to each their own.

The neatest thing I’ve seen was some Euro campers plated for somewhere in Germany. I’ve never seen an actual early 2000s Transit before other than in pictures. It was travelling with a pair of 2nd gen Ducatos, one pre-facelift, one post-facelift.
